Circles are in for Christmas

Today I am up on the blog at Just Imagine Crafts using a Circle Cutter.  http://justimaginecrafts.typepad.com/just-imagine-crafts---kreaxions-punches/

I want to tell you how much I love my Circle Cutter and if you don't have one you need to go here and order one.  http://www.justimaginecrafts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_56&products_id=285
I say this becuse it can make any size circle you want and you don't have to have a million punches, just one tool.  You can even make it the size you want.

Here is my card:

I love this Christmas Card I made. I used red cardstock for the main card, on top of that is white cardstock that has been embossed with 2 different folders, then I found a 6 X 6 pad of Bo Bunny from last Christmas and backed in red cardstock to accent the color.  I made the circles:  1" and backed by red 1 1/4", 2 1/4" and backed by red 2 1/2", and the largest circle is 3 1/2" backed by 3 3/4" red cardstock.  The card size is a square card 5 1/4 X 5 1/4.  Last I put on a sentiment by SRM Stickers and added some green and red bling.  I forgot that I did add some ribbon with red & white polka dots in the center of the card.

Here is what the circle cutter looks like:

Hope this helps you make this, I think I will make more with different paper since I like the looks of the card.

Several Layers of Thank you

On this card, I had some old My Minds Eye and decided to put them together since I love the colors.

As you can see my card above, I used punch # 906 and mad a border on the end.  It actually makes 2 rows and I pulled off the bottom row and just left the larger triangle.  I saved the negatives to use on another card later.

You can see the edge clearly here.  I also used 2 other pieces of paper, adding some blue twine that was in each piece of paper.  I also used my circle punch to cut a circle a little bigger after I put the SRM Sentiment on it and then added some blue pearls.

These are the items I used:

and punch # 906, using insert "A"

Playing the Blues at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog

The new challenge up at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog is  to use Shades of Blue.  Our sponsor for this challenge is:  Delicious Doodles and the winner will win 4 Digi's.  The challenge will run October 21-November 3

I used the Digi "Cuppa"

I colored the digi with Tim Holtz distress markers, for the steam I used light blue bling and I found a stamp that could be used since the cup might have some coffee in it.

Come on over and play at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.

Spotlight on at Cards in Envy

This challenge at Cards in Envy has us doing  challenge that makes a spotlight card.  (So the definition of this technique is to do a black and white card and print or stamp it twice, then cut out a piece of the scene and color it or it can be the opposite by coloring the card and leaving the spotlight in black & white.  Also take the spotlight and highlight it by backing it in a color, I used black.)
This was very challenging, but fun to do.  I have not made a card like this in a while and it made me come out of my comfort zone.

Here is my card:

As you can see, I colored the flower and left the rest black & white.

Remember, all cards linked for our challenge must be an A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") only. NO SQUARE CARDS.

This challenge runs from October 21st to November 3rd.

Hope to see you come try this out.

Circles & Button Card

I have a post up today at Just Kreaxions blog showing my card using a Circle Cutter.  I have to tell you that I used to not like circles since they took to long to cut and pull out the dies.  Now I have 1 tool that does all different sizes.  I am obsessed with making all different sizes of circles.

Here is the card I came up with:

So what I did was cut 2 different size circles.

This shows the circles up close.  If you notice I cut a larger one and then a smaller one and placed it off set.  Then I put a button somewhere in the circle that has white twine tied in a knot.  I placed the circles on grid paper.  I cut 4 large ones and 4 smaller ones and matched the circles so they matched.
At the bottom I put a strip of gingham ribbon to bring out the yellow and used a SRM Sentiment to finish it off.

This is what the circle cutter looks like:

Circle Layout from Vacation

I want to share with you what I made this week.  I had fun using the Kreaxions Circle Cutter.

This is what my layout looks like:

I used the line Snapshots by Bella Blvd. for the layout and letters and borders.  The circles are mostly papers from my scrap pile which I was getting ready to get rid of. I took the circle cutter and make circles of varying sizes with the scraps I had.  I even used some half circles.

The picture was from my vacation in June to Lake Tahoe, CA.  I took a tour around the area and we got to go to Squaw Valley, where the Winter Olympics were held. I found this big chair and had to sit in it during the pouring rain.  Hope you enjoy this.

This is what I used:

Love to Scrap Recipe Challenge

Today is a new challenge for Love to Scrap!!!Challenge Blog
We are doing a recipe challenge is week, which includes:  3 papers/cardstock (patterned or plain), 2 flowers and 1 die cut!

So I had to think on this awhile since I also as using the Cherry on Top digi from our sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
This is what I came up with:

I ended up making a tag, which I cut from my Tim Holtz die by Sizzix and used manila paper.  Next I found some scraps in  shades of pink ad similar.  I used a punch on the bottom an added it next to the sentiment.  I put 2 flowers by the sentiment to make it stand out.  I added a doily (hanging off the edge, which I distressed.  I colored my cupcake with distressed markers and added stickles and inked the circle.  I use some yarn that had the varigated colors and this is hat it looks like.  It was fun to create once I started.

So come over to play, but remember to be specific to the recipe.

Our sponsor for this challenge is the awesome Bugaboo Digi Stamps!

We are lucky to have such a great  prize up for grabs is 7 digital images of winner's choice!
